SORTERE - APP
As part of a digital design course at Høyskolen Kristiania - Westerdals, I joined designers Tim Allum Nielsen and Axel Rustad on developing a digital solution for mobile phone.
Brief:
Create a digital solution for mobile phone that could enhance an everyday routine.
Concept:
Sortere is a digital solution offering users an intuitive and convenient way to determine the appropriate bin for their waste. If you're unsure which trash bin your waste belongs in, simply pick up your mobile phone and scan it using Sortere.
Process:
Our goal of making this app was to simplify waste sorting. This involved surveys to map out the audience needs and demands, interviews of the users, production of visual elements and prototyping and user testing.
We wanted to create an app that would be intuitive and easy to use, so we had our focus on Donald Norman's principles when designing. We chose a clean green color palette which associates with Grønn Punkt Norge and the norwegian garbage trucks, a 9-weight sans serif font suitable for digital use (Inter), Illustrations for the on-boarding process to help the user understand.
Camera
In the camera function, the user will have the option to take a picture of their trash and then receive information on where it should be disposed.
Return point
The recycling point provides the user with a quick and clear overview of where to dispose glass and metal packaging in their local area.
